Design : The Kestrel is a 49ft long, 4 berth cruiser stern narrowboat. It has a quiet water-cooled diesel engine with simple to use controls.
Saloon : Radio/CD player; colour TV/DVD player.
Kitchen : The kitchen is fully equipped and has a 4 burner gas cooker with grill and oven; refrigerator; sink and drainer; saucepans; cooking utensils; crockery and cutlery appropriate for the number of berths. There is plenty of storage space and work surfaces.
Features : There is full radiator central heating on the boat. A 150 gallon water tank supplies the hot and cold running water. There is a double-filtered drinking water system. There is carpeting in the saloon and bedroom.
Berths : As this is a 4 berth boat, there is a choice of a double berth or two singles in the rear cabin. An optional dinette/double or two single berths are available in the saloon. There are wardrobes located throughout the boat (see layout options) for storing clothes.
Bathroom : The bathroom comes complete with a wash hand basin, electronically operated flush toilet, and a shower. A 240v shaver socket is also available.
Bedding : Freshly laundered bedding is supplied for each crew member, as per your requirements. Additional bedding is available upon request. Towels are also supplied - one medium sized towel per crew member, and one hand towel per bathroom.
Additional : Tuition, and buoyancy aids, are supplied free of charge. A safe is supplied on the boat (except on boats based at Gailey), as are helmsman's waterproofs and an umbrella.
Welcome Pack : A welcome pack is provided, consisting of : 1 bottle of washing up liquid, 1 dish cloth, 1 tea towel, 1 floor cloth, toilet roll & bin liner. Helmsman's waterproofs & umbrella.
Electric : The Kestrel has a 2kw Inverter that supplies 240 volt electricity to certain appliances and sockets on the boat. (Please note: if you decide to use any of your own electrical appliances, you do so at your own risk).
